Thank You Helena!

I got my big reveal package from my very col SP10, Helena! Isn't it awesome? I've been itching to get a copy of a Gathering of Lace - and now I have one! And not just that, but also 5 balls of supersoft Misti Alpaca Lace in a pretty powder blue. Hmmmm, what pattern to knit with?? How will I decide? Helena also sent 2 skeins of lovely silk mohair and bare Knitpicks fingering weight merino for dyeing. Plus, there's a cute little strawberry hand kit and a pouch of Eucalan. I think I'm set to knit some lace! Thanks so much for being a great secret pal, Helena!

Brains

45%Almost 50/50 shot? Not too shabby for a lazy fat ass like me.

I've been mostly brainless* all week, so in lieu of real written content, how about a spot of DC life? The Dupont Circle Metro Station's been getting some stone work done so I've been putting my cameraphone to use on the way home.

I'm not sure I understand the choice of poetry. It's from Whitman's Wound-Dresser. Does this have anything to do with DC in general or Dupont Circle in particular? Contemporary antiwar statement, maybe? But why at a subway stop? Way too much to think about after a long day.

Quick Post

This post will be more colorful than wordy. A sock and a half:
This is Garnstudio Fabel (color 901) in a made-up-on-the-fly basic sock pattern.

A half a sock with same yarn, different color:

Jersey Twins are in town and we did some dyeing:

I'll post again when I have more free time...maybe in a few months :)
