Since I'm not feeling inspired to post about Alaska right now, maybe I'll write about knitting instead. I recently finished a pair of purl-free Monkeys.
I know this pic is only of one sock, but I did finish the second one too, I swear. The no-purl version rocks! It's superfast, especially on teeny 9" circs that I bought after hearing about them on the cruise. I can't stop knitting in the round! Weeeeeeeeeee!
Right now, I'm working on the Buttlerflies and Bows pattern from Socks Socks Socks. (Hmm, there sure are a lot of sock patterns in that book. Go figure!)
The pattern itself is quite easy to memorize, but if you make a mistake on when/where you slip stitches and don't notice it for a row or two, you'll have a lot of tinking back to do. Dropping down to the mistake usually doesn't work because of the tension difference between the knit sections and the strand created by slipping stitches.
Next time, Alaska. For serious this time.

I have got to make some of those no-purl monkeys. The pinksock (can't reacll thepattern) are great too!
Great socks Mia. I am trying two at once on one circs top down and also 2 on 2 circs toe up. New techniques but fun now that I have it figured out. LOL. Hope all is going good for you.
